Faversham’s standard quay has a rich history of Oyster Farming, many of the Oyster smacks of the Victorian Era were built in the ship yard along the Faversham Creek. Kentish Oysters were shipped to Billingsgate by the millions for the everyman to enjoy as they were a rich source of protein, and cheap too, at only 1p an oyster.
